Thought this may be of interest to some people. I have been diagnosed as Bipolar II but my pdoc has also referred to mixed anxiety disorder in the past.

So... for the last week, I've been taking my 25mg of seroquel to get to sleep, and it's suddenly making me sleep until at least 12pm, causing me to miss a class I'm already behind in.  I figured maybe I was in the 'down' part of my cycle, so I didn't take it last night, and I was unable to sleep until 4:00am (which never happens when I'm in the ' ( Read more... )

my psychiatrist has always insisted that I am just depressed, but I've always suspected I might be bipolar. Now an outside doctor has said I sound like I have a "mood instability disorder", and he wants to prescribe a mood stabilizer in addition to my current anti-depressant (I've had trouble with my meds working for a while, and then not working, ( Read more... )

Could someone please tell me your experiences of a mixed episode/state?

Last night I had to go get stitches for a cut I did that ended up way too deep. It was absolutely humiliating. My mom, who thought I was going on 2 years without cutting, screamed at me the whole way to and from the ER. I wished so badly that I was dead. It was truly awful.

Okay, I have a new symptom lately that is really worrying me. I have been saying the wrong words a lot lately. I say the word, and I think that it is the right word, but everyone looks at me like I'm nuts. Now, keep in mind, this isn't standard, run-of-the mill confusion. This happens all the time.
